The FORE Cancer Research Charity
FORE Cancer Research a Columbus, Ohio based charity has raised over $530,000.00 in five years that has gone directly to fund cancer research project at The James Cancer Hospital & Solve Research Center targeting, melanoma, breast, ovarian, lung & colorectal cancers. Cancer is a disease that unfortunately affects all of us in one way or another. FORE Cancer Research was formed by Mark Thomas as a grass roots vehicle to help raise funds and awareness for cancer research. After losing a close family member to a long battle with ovarian cancer in the fall of 2006, her courage gave Mark the inspiration to try and make a difference.
Together with a group of friends and business associates, they formed a charity and organized an annual Pro-Am Golf Tournament in Columbus, Ohio to benefit cancer research. One of Kirk Herbstreit’s close mutual friends and his former teammate Dr. James Borchers introduced us and he volunteered to be a guest speaker for our event. Kirk has made several appearances over the years treating guests to one of his insightful college football previews. He has been a close friend, supporter and champion of cancer research at The Ohio State University & the FORE Cancer Research team!
